Dear Picnic with the Pops Fan,
After the tremendous success of last year’s Cirque de la Symphonie, Picnic with
the Pops is pleased to announce its return to The Meadow at Keeneland for our
traditional two night concert event! With its centralized location and
convenient parking, the meadow adjacent to the Keene Barn and Entertainment
Center is the perfect setting for this event.
Ay Caramba! The Picnic with the Pops Commission has secured the three-time Grammy-nominated Cuban music
group Tiempo Libre, one of the
hottest Latin bands today! HAVANA NIGHTS, sponsored by UBS Financial Services,
will be presented under the direction of Scott Terrell, with our guest artists performing with the Lexington
Philharmonic Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20 at 8:30 p.m.
Tiempo Libre’s Miami-based
members are true modern heirs to the rich tradition of the music of their native
Cuba. Classically trained at Cuba’s premiere conservatories, today the group is
a hit in the U.S. and abroad, celebrated for its incendiary, joyful performances
of Timba, an irresistible, dance-inducing mix of high-voltage Latin jazz and the
seductive rhythms of salsa.
Ticket will go on sale to the General Public on June 4th. Orders will be filled
according to date received, so get your order in
early for the best location.
Please
remember that orders can be accepted by
mail, phone, or in person. Once your order is received you will receive a
confirmation postcard. TTickets will
be mailed approximately 30 days prior to the event.
As always, you are encouraged to bring your food/beverages or favorite caterer.

prizes!
