ACCESSIBILITY
Handicap Parking is available for those who need it, please show your handicap parking placard to the parking attendant and they will direct you to the proper area.
Several Scout Troops will be on-site to assist patrons getting to-and-from their vehicles. Donations to the Troops are suggested.
WEATHER PLAN
Picnic with the Pops is a RAIN OR SHINE event. In the event of light rain, the show will continue.
In the event of lightning or other hazardous weather, we will follow emergency protocol, and ask guests to shelter in their vehicles or a secure building until it is safe to resume (typically 30 minutes after lightning is detected in the area).
Should the weather be so severe as to cause a rain-out, the event will take place the following day; same place, same time.
We always encourage everyone to plan for any type of weather – please plan to bring towels, ponchos, extra trash bags or tarps to cover tables, or anything else you might need to be comfortable in the event of light rain! even if the forecast looks clear, we definitely recommend towels, as seats may be a little damp if it rains earlier in the day.
For text updates about any weather-related communications, text JOIN LEXPOPS to 58-339. (Please note, this is a new number / new text.)
FOOD
While patrons are welcome to bring their own picnic, many tables choose to arrange for on-site catering or purchase from one of our local food trucks. (See our Food & Catering page for more details!)
DRINKS
Guests are encouraged to bring a cooler with drinks of their choice. Please note, no alcohol is sold on site but you may bring it to the event - BYOB!
Food trucks will be selling water and soft drinks.
TABLE SIZE
If you purchased a reserved table, table sizes are 8’ x 2.5’. Eight chairs will be provided per table; no extra chairs are allowed at any table due to space constraints. Tablecloths are not provided — please be sure to bring some flair to make your table look great!
NO EXTRA TABLES, TENTS, CANOPIES
No tents (canopies, EZ-ups, etc) or extra tables of any kind are allowed as they will obstruct the view and paths of other patrons. This goes for general admission as well as the table section.
NO FLAMES OF ANY KIND
No open flames of any kind will be permitted. This includes candles (even in enclosures), fireworks, sparklers, etc. (LED / flameless candles are permitted).
NO BALLOONS OF ANY KIND
Balloons pose a fire hazard as well as obscure the view of those around and behind you. Additionally, due to our close proximity to the Bluegrass Airport, balloons can interfere with flight patterns.
UBER/LYFT
There will be designated Uber/Lyft pick-up/drop-off areas. Please follow the directional signs as you enter Gate 1.
NO PETS ALLOWED
Sorry and thanks for your understanding.
BRING A SMALL FLASHLIGHT
We try to limit the parking lot lights until the conclusion of the performance; a flashlight may be helpful.
CONTESTS
Our themed contests are part of the fun! We will hold three contests: Table Decor, Costumes and Cocktails. Check the ‘contests’ page on this website for more details as the event gets closer!
